Easy install, stops wind buffering from trucks and helps with crosswinds a little. Extra protection for the bottom of the bike from road gaters.

GREAT QUALITY. CLIPS ARE STRONG AND EASY TO USE. EASY TO INSTALL-15 TO 20 MINUTES. COULD USE A FEW LOUVERS IN IT TO VENT ENGINE HEAT TO REAR.

Very easy to install. Took less then 10 minutes. I did noticed extra heat around my feet, warm but not unbearable. I checked the pan after a 10 mile ride and it was to hot to touch. I feel the protection it gives is worth my feet being a little warmer. Besides I can always put my feet up on the highway pegs, then I don't notice the heat.

Easy to install and protects the underside against any projectile that comes off of the road. It's a piece of mind thing. I'm all for low cost protection.

Easy install... put this on last night while talking to one of my brothers on the telephone... and still had it done in less than 15 minutes.
Haven't ridden with it on yet, but it definitely streamlines the underside of the Wing... and gives much needed protection to vital parts of the bike!

Piece of cake to install. Wife feels more heat on her left foot. Took it back off and stamped 4 louvers in the main tray facing back. Seems to have gotten rid of the heat, but maintained it's protection.

Installation was reasonably straight forward on my 2008 GW. However, the use of closed-circumferance slots rather than open-ended slots means that you must pull the side covers off of the "threaded pegs" in order to insert those pegs into the belly pan's slots. The side covers are reasonably flexible and will pull off and then go back on without permanently affecting their fit or appearance.
Aerodynamics do improve. Trucks still create turbulence that is felt at body height. There's nothing the belly pan can do about this. However, the belly pan does reduce the impact of turbulence on the bike itself; the bike is more stable when passing or being passed by a truck at turnpike speeds.

This is a well made product. Easy install and it's eas to see how it will protect the underside of the bike in the engine area, especially the oil filter. I don't know so much about the wind defection others have mentioned, since I didn't really notice much of it before I put it on.

Very simple to install. The two piece set-up is great for oil changes with easy cam fastenings. As others have said the coolant tank is really exposed and mine has taken some hits prior to installing this luckily with no punctures. I now ride with confidence that my under belly is now secure.

I had my wing 1 month when I took some shrapnel to the coolant reservoir while going through a collision zone on the freeway. Luckily, it was a large slice instead of a hole so I was able to get home. Upon looking under the bike I was very surprised at what I saw. The coolant reservoir and other trinkets, oil filter, where entirely exposed and awaiting damage. This $58 piece cost me $225 plus 5 days of down time. With today’s gas prices an additional $120.00. Worth the money? I think so but you can do the math. Easy 15-20 minutes to install just be sure you keep the overflow hoses out of the way (there is a hole for them). The fit is a little snug but okay. No fairing or trim pieces to remove, just (4) nuts to take off and put back on. This item is (2) pcs with the front piece connecting quickly with szeus fasteners making it easily removable for oil changes. I immediately noticed better aerodynamics as well. There was less push from the bottom of the bike when passing trucks and on windy days. Very noticeable! I would think that this would improve gas mileage as well, but I will have to monitor and report on that at a later date. As said before this should be a stock item, or the dealer should offer it at purchase. Wish I had it to begin with and I would definitely recommend this item. Very happy so far!

Look under your wing and you will order this item. Just installed it in about 10 minutes and can't wait to ride on the highway to experience the improvements the previous reviewer mentioned. It also just makes you feel your doing everything you can to avoid a breakdown.

The amazing thing about this product is not the protection, but the reduction in turbulance you get from 18-wheelers. You ever ride past a big truck and get pushed to the side by the air? Well, after installing this, that never happens to me anymore. I don't know how or why it removes the turbulance, but it does! This is a must have for every GL-1800!

These installed very easily and did not have to remove any fairing to install. Everything lined up just right and took only 20 minutes. Great addition to saving the undercarriage from road debris.

A simple enough design and was easy to install in about an hour or so. The oversize fasteners on the front section are easy to use and are similar to the ones used in military applications for equipment covers. Installation did involve a little planning and a good look at the covers over the exhaust pipes. I used a wood block to gently tap the front of the pan to push it to the rear most position in order to make enough room for the front panel to line up and attach. One of the female fasteners moved during the installation and was not lined up with the hole for the male part to engage, however, it was easy to realign with just the use of my fingers. The overall fit was good and all of the holes lined up to the studs on the exhaust pipes.

A quality product. You have to take off the lower fairing before you can install this. The instructions are rudimentary, not very helpful. I got the shop manual out to see what actually needed to be done.
The product itself is a lightweight aluminum and has plenty of flex. I'm not sure that this pan would withstand anything that would break the cases but it might save the water tank that rides by the center stand.
Something to keep on your must have list for a new bike. I would have rated it higher if it had thicker metal and gave the impression that it could withstand a puncture blow.

Great idea. Like others don't know if it will save anything but why chance it. Took about 1 hour to install on my trike (couldn't keep my drunk friends away as I installed it).

Nice idea, easy to put on. If I had to do it again, I would make my own, only heavier. Comforting to know the cheap plastic coolant tank is protected.

Very nice quality and fairly easy to install. Well worth the peace of mind it gives for protecting the coolant reservoir. Can't tell it makes any difference in crosswinds.
