They live up to their reviews, these are brilliant. Install within minutes. My hands are in almost perfectly still air now- will keep my pinkies from freezing. Opened for summer they do a great job directing air straight up my armpits but it did take some tweaking to get the locknuts tight enough to stop them self rotating in the slipstream. Like the previous reviewer, I'm so happy with them that I've ordered the air wings with lowers as well.

Fantastic product that gets a 5+. I installed these for my winter rides. The deflectors keep all of the cool air from climbing up your jacket sleeves. Liked 'em so much, I ordered the lowers also.

Just got these and am still riding, even though the mornings are as low as 28 degrees. Boy what a difference these made, keeping the cold air off me. My hands don't get near as cold now.

These little plastic shields are terrific. They channel air to the rider when it's hot and block cold air when you want. I bought them to redirect air away from the passenger but she tells me she can't tell any difference. I sure can. I like 'em.

I have to agree with them turning at higher speeds and cross winds, I am going to add some loctite to the threads and see if this helps out with the main stud loosing up and the nut on the bottom. I found that you pretty much have to tighten them down more then the snugging that they tell you about. As for blocking the wind out, yes they do a really good job at that, when you open them up it feeds quite a bit of fresh air to your body. Now I just found out after a 1200 mile ride that the small srews holding the plastic to the bracket have come loose so beware of that and check them regularly. other than that they are definately a good purchase.

I have just returned from a 1000 mile trip. In the mornings the hand wings were closed. Very little wind on the hands. In the afternoon they were opened and directed good air flow towards me. The only problem was they did move some when heavy wind hit me cross ways or passing a semi on a 2 lane road. Good investment.

Great for cold weather, keeps your hands from becoming cold and when the weather gets hot just turn them to defect the air onto you, 5 minutes to install

A Must in hot weather. Adds so much that my wife says she gets blown around if open all the way.

I'm with Daveo, they don't stay where you set them, unless they are against the faring. I lite the look and they do help keep wind off my hands when its cooler. I'm a little disappointed!!

The Good: They do keep cold air off your hands when it's cold and direct air toward you hands when it's warm. Directing air toward you hands is also a big plus if you're wearing some type of riding suit or jacket with wind tunnel type sleeves for colling inhot weather. They do a great job of blowing air up my sleeves in my leather jacket or Aerostich suit. The Bad: They keep turning open or closed when gusts of wind or the turbulence from a semi hits them. I know I'm mechanically inept and can not tighten these correctly, but I tighten them snuggly to the point they are difficult to turn and before the 7 day trip is over the wind gusts are whipping them around again. This last trip a semi blew the left one closed AND SNAPPED the two bolts in half causing the loss of the entire plastic wing. The nuts did not come loose as I found the nut with half of the bolt still in it laying in a open pocket of my tank bag. I believe this is a safety feature that saves serious damage to the mirror. Still no reply to m email about warranty replacement. The Ugly. None. Looks good and works well except for above noted problems. A fixed stop attached to the mirror would prevent the wing from opening too far and I can live with them blowing shut. If they keep breaking off they will be a waste of money. Good idea that doesn't work.

As others have stated in so many words - they don't really stay where you put them. And to keep tightening them can become aggravatingly futile. They will move - any good gust of wind and around they go. I've called Baker directly and spoke to the president of the company about this problem. His explanation - I have them to tight. Well if they move up to the point where I adjust them and they still move but they're now to tight? Doesn't make sense to me. Mr. Baker said that you have to adjust them into that 'sweet' spot not to tight - not to loose where they work correctly. Frankly, they are a disappointment. Baker does a great job with the wind wings and the foot wings which I like and can endorse. But these hand wings need more engineering to get them to work properly. Possibly they need to work on a double nut installation where the pressure is placed on two tightening nuts instead of just one. I'd look at other options before I'd invest in these again.

I had a set of Hand Wings installed by the nice folks of Baker Built Air Wings, Inc. while attending Wing Ding 30 in Greenville, SC today (3 July 2008). Although done by the Baker crew, installation took less than 5 minutes (but it did look easy) and they look great. They also work great too! It was 95 degrees on the way home and the wings really helped by directing air onto my hands. This is an excellent product.

Just put them (Jun '07) so haven't experienced their effect during winter mornings but they do deflect wind quite well and help reduce buffeting at highway speeds.

Easiest thing I've installed. Really works well at getting the wind (and bugs) off your hands. got these and the AirWings together, much better wind protection.

They keep the wind and rain from hitting your hands. They also help move air onto you when those very warm days of summer hit us.

Really helps keep the cold air away from my hands! Be sure to use the felt protector provided in the installation kit to avoid damage to your finish, because the hand wing sits snug against the fairing when installed as shown.

I added these after a good friend of mine put a set on his wing and talked about them for weeks. Right off the bat, the difference was awesome. I only have the hand deflictor but it sure does work. This is very easy to install and works great and looks great.

Installed all the Baker deflectors, Top, Middle, Lower, and foot. All work excellent on cool days, and keep the water off in the rain. Never had any issues with them not staying where adjusted, suggest others tighten friction a little. I added an "L" bracket to these hand warmers and put on rectangular sloped blind spot mirrors behind the warmers. WOW! You have no blind spots anymore and they are protected by the wing. Pics available on request. Baker should see them and offer as an add on kit. Baker products are top in the industry with a customer support thats just as good.
