A must have for any trip (long or short!) I carry this item, plus a leatherman & tire inflator. 5 star rating for this product. Some advice: The tire plugger is a temporary fix ONLY. I know some guys who plugged a tire and rode for over 700 miles - but the "mushroom" eventually worked its way out (slowly & safely, though...)

Pretty comprehensive kit. Need pliers to pull plug through. Does not come with kit but these are standard in wing toolkit. Haven't had to use yet but good piece of mind. Also bought the mini compressor as well from this site.

An inexpensive insurance policy while touring. I ordered my kit recently and placed it in the right saddlebag (high side opposite traffic) along with the air hose extension. Didn’t need to use it but felt more comfortable knowing I could fix a flat while touring through Canada’s North country. I would suggest that you use this tool at least once as a learning experience before you need it in a situation. This and the “Show Chrome” Air Hose are now a permanent part of my traveling tool kit.

I had one of these for my 1500 back in the 1990's. I did test it out once and was very happy with the results. The key difference between this set and a standard automotive tire plugger you get for $10 at walmart is that this set doesn't use a sticky foam plug like the automotive sets. As the sticky plugs age, they loose their stickiness. This set uses a real rubber plug that is stretched and then allowed to snap back into position in the hole. If you can fix a flat on the road, this is probably the best way to do it. I hate the fix-i-flat and green slime. They really mess up your rim and the inside of your tire. Keep in mind this kit (and any plug kit) only works on tubeless tires. If you have the old style spoke wheels, you have a tube inside and this kit won't help you.

I bought one of these a few years ago. While driving through Oklahoma and some highway road work, I was honored with a souvenir. Luckily, with this and my mini compressor, I was back on the road in no time. This is an extremely beneficial item.

I have carried one of these in my saddlebag for 8 years and had the first occasion to use it last fall when a fellow rider's tire picked up a screw. It worked flawlessly and allowed him to make it 75 miles to a dealer for a new tire. It would have probably held for the life of the tire, but he chose to have a new tire installed. Like others said, practice on an old tire or just waste a plug to see how it works. The key is to make sure the plug is lubed with the included oil. Only drawback is of course it doesn't work on large holes, just screws, nails, etc. Every bike should have one of these.

Really easy to use if you can follow directions. I tested it on an old lawnmower tire....hopefully I'll never need it for my wing....but just in case, I'll be ready. Used velcro to attach it to the wall of one of my saddle bags, so it is out of the way yet, handy.

Have had this on my 2004 and now 2008, always a good piece of mind tool along with the air pump.

Small, functional and fits into a compact case with my air compressor. Learn how to use it before you set out on a trip. Practice on an old unservicable tire if you can find one. You never know where you'll be and what the weather will be like when you need it. A heavy downpour on the side of a dark highway is not the place to learn how to use it. Consider keeping it in the right saddlebag for safety on that Interstate with a soft shoulder. (Keeps you further away from roadway and traffic when you're trying to get at it.

Very nice kit. I feel much better having this in my trunk. Someone stole my spare tire, where is yours?
