It works okay. The instructions stink and the bolts that mount the brace would not thread so I had to leave the braces off. I think it will be fine however.

BEWARE AIRBAG MODEL OWNERS. This produce, while great, will not fit the airbag GL 1800.

The gloss black finish does not detract from the overall appearance of the front end of the bike. It fit the fender edge perfect. I didn't use the drill through screws to mount. I purchased plastic epoxy and mounted it screwlessly. This makes for a fantastic smooth mount that makes it look like it came mounted from the factory. It's hardly noticeable. Isn't that what we all want for a mud flap/fender extension?

very good quality - installation instructions aren't very good, but it is easy to figure out - both drilled and epoxyed mine on - and also used the support brackets since adding the extra long extension puts strain on the fender mounts - if not properly supports, these mounts will crack/break - painted mine dark cherry sice I have done my wing in two-tone (black and black cherry) - needed addition to save abuse to the cowl.

Very good quality. Not the easiest to install and yes, the instructions are a little confusing. I HIGHLY Recommend that if you are installing anything on the front fender area whether it be lights, caliper covers etc...Do it all at once. The GL1800 is not as "User Friendly" as the GL1500 was on the front wheel covers. Overall...Very sturdy and usefull.

Works as intended. Clean look I left mine black on gold bike and it looks good but you be the judge and see in photo gallery. The instructions took some interpreting. A 6mm x 1 tap came in handy.

Adding the part was not difficult, the value is certainly worth it. The instructions were not that good, the screw sizes are also an issue. The back mounting screw needs to be ground off (shortened) prior to final installation. This back screw sometimes will catch the tire in bumps and rack the fender and cause a scrape in the tire, so grind the screws before install and it'll be fine.

This extender fits perfect and the hardware kit is great. If you know a person into body work you could hide the screws fill in the seam, paint and have what the goldwing should have from the factory.Wish I could order more of the chrome screws for the rest of my bike.Throw away the instructions they are bad,the photos are so bad the FBI could not fix them.

Like others have said. For the price and considering what it does it is great. I'm in Florida and there are always sprinklers, sand or wet spots from rain. The extension significantly reduces the amount of grime on the lower portions of the bike.
I gave four stars because I thought the instructions could be better.
Here is a short video during the project.

Installed this piece in about 20 minutes with no problems.
Looks great on my black '06 and keeps much more road grime off of the lower cowl and timing cover areas and seems to limit the amount of debris coming up through the fork area.
Highly recommended!

The instruction are not very clear and the pictures are blurred. Difficult to install and had to buy a 6mm tap to make the screws work.
