Good addition to bike. Good thing I looked at instructions or I wouldn't have removed inter lining. I would have drilled thur it and it would have the screw heads exposed. Some guys do read instructions plus pictures!!!

I like the rack, its looks and chrome quality. Lighter than I expected which is good. HOWEVER One leg was shorter than the other, which I did not notice until after it cracked my trunk lid. I used the supplied washers for the front and star washers for the back legs. Installed it one afternoon, the next morning (with no miles) I found cracks around one leg. Upon removing it to try and figure out what the hey, I noticed it did not sit level. Wish I had checked that first. Before mounting your rack, place it on a known perfectly level surface such as a kitchen counter or plate of steel (don't trust your garage floor to be level) and make sure the leg lengths are the same. Then check and make sure the angles for the trunk are correct. Put masking tape on the trunk surface to protect it and set the rack on the lid making sure all four legs touch evenly and the angles are correct. Other than this issue I like the rack and will continue with it. Will be getting a replacement from WingStuff, hope it is correct.

Bought this rack, and the spoiler at the same time, the installation instructions of this rack were just a little off. It said to have the rack forward but not touching the seat back. I installed the rack as per instructions, then went to install the spoiler… Didn’t fit. I had to move the rack forward ¼ inch pushed up against the seat back to allow room for the spoiler. Other than that minor problem I very happy with the look and the style. I also bought the star washers for the added support, and they not only look good but do add a sturdier feel to the rack. I'd give a 5 for the looks and style, but for the minor error in the instructions I have to give a 4.. For anyone else, Install the spoiler first then the rack

Acceptable chrome quality, nice usable design and shape, however there was an inexcusable quality problem with mine. As you would expect, the foot on each leg is cut at an angle to match the contour of the GL1800 trunk lid. One of these legs was welded on to the main rack with the angled foot incorrectly oriented by at least 90 degrees. That leg therefore rested on the pointed side of the angled foot and not flush with the lid. Additionally, if you look at the product pictures you will notice that it appears the legs are probably touching the spoiler. If don't want these 2 parts touching, moving the rack forward just a little will result the front part of the rack (sharp corners) to poke into the passenger backrest. This might or might not prove to be a problem over time. Returned and will not try another one.

Very nice and easy to install. Take your time and measure twice. I also used Star washers on top and bottom of the trunk lid without the supplied feet and the bolts were long enough. Used a black automotive sealant(Goop)on the inside trunk washers rather than the rubber washers. Just ensure you don't use too much so that it squeezes out the top and shows. Have rode in alot of rain and no leaks. Mine came with the flag mounts as described.

Looks great, was easy to install, used the star washers, which required getting longer bolts. Mine DID come with the flag pole tabs. While I did the install by myself, I would recommend extra set of hands to hold the rack in place while you trace circles around the legs of the rack onto the masking tape, my rack kept wanting to slide around while I was tracing. So i justed used a little more tape to temp hold the rack in place.

Easy to install and I like the looks. Used the star washer kit to install. Hardest thing was taking a drill and putting holes in the trunk. Took a long time making sure I had the holes in the right place before drilling.

Good, just like the picture, but missing the flag pole tabs (I don't care). Hard to find good places to hook bungees on. After taking apart the trunk lid and drilling my holes to put this in I decided that I wouldn't put anything more heavy than a sleeping bag and a bedroll and maybe a pillow on top of the rack. You may end up with some broken plastic in your lid if you tried to go any heavier. It should include bigger washers and thicker/wider/softer rubber washers and longer screws for the mounting hardware. Also after looking at this... I think a better solution than a rack would be to mount a few rare earth magnets on the underneath the inside of the trunk lid. Then on the outside mount a skin tight carbon-fiber "tub", with a few thin silicone rubber no slip pads underneath and some iron slug plates inside of it that that the magnets would latch onto. This would be much lighter than any of the racks, easy to add/remove anytime, and would keep the COG lower, and be easier to secure items in.

I ordered this rack just as you see it, but, when it came it didn't have the inside screw-down flag mounts. And before this rack came, I had ordered two screw-down flag and poles and several other American Flags, now I will have to buy the clamps to make the flag poles work, meaning more money to spend trying to correct this problem. So beware that this Chrome Luggage Rack does not have the flag mounts as shown in the picture. Plus the Chrome was peeling at the top behind the seat.

I like this style over the billet style rack. I did have a little problem. When I got my bike new from the dealer, I had them install the factory trunk spoiler. Unfortunately, they installed it too far forward on the trunk lid so when I put the rack on, the lower left and right fronts of the rack pushed on the seat. On the inside they are a bit sharp, so I used the protective covers that came for the bottom posts (for marking) and put them on there to keep from cutting the seat. I would suggest that you install your luggage rack before the spoiler to ensure enough clearance between the seat and the spoiler. 5 stars for a nice piece of chrome.

Great looking rack. I ordered the star washers and when to Lowes and got (4) 6mm x 20mm socket screws for the installion. Used 1/8" bit first followed by 17/64" for holes. The whole process took about 30 minutes.

Very nice looking rack! Don't buy it without the star washers for better weight distribution. Like everyone else says "Buy longer screws". Better yet, why not have the correct length screws and the washers included with the rack. Another $10 wouldn't hurt this deal and would save a trip to the hardware.

This looks great on the bike and is easy to install, just follow the instructions. Got it with the star washers for better weight distribution on the trunk deck. Longer screws would be nice but are easy to come up with. Can't wait to get the flagpoles to go on it.

beautiful rack - nice chrome - looks great - I also used the star washers to better the weight distribution, and also found that the screws where to short. Went to Home Depot and purchased 4 new ( 6MM x 20MM long ) socket cap screws to replace the original ones that came with the rack - also purchased washer and rubber seals the same size as the star washers for the underside for extra support - worked great!

Great product. Easy to install, however, I suggest you buy the Star Washers and use them to replace the washers that comes with the rack. It really makes the rack sturdier.
