I purchased the compu fire high output alternator. It worked fine until just beyond the warranty period a couple of months. and it went out. was offered a new replacement for $215.00 with one year warranty or rebuilt for $120.00 with a 30 day warranty. This was from the Compu Fire Company.

Definitely A++! Plenty of power. I have the Kuryakyn LED Battery Gauge and have at least one green light even with the cigarette lighter pushed in. Not difficult to install. Directions are clear but you must have patience to "work" it in to the space provided. It's a real tight fit. I'm using a sealed glass mat battery (about $80) instead of the gel ($136). So far so good, but time will tell.

Bought only the compufire alternator which arrived in uk using Fedex in 5 days!!! Great service. Fitted it in 40 minutes then spent 5 weeks tracing a electrical fault on the bike, now working brilliantly and very pleased as I can use all my lights and have plenty of power spare. Also added a new Gel Battery for peace of mind during the fault searching. Highly recommended to all.

This unit installed easily enough ,it does take alittle patience to squeeze it in.But it does fit. Seems to work well ,I dont have alot of extra electrical stuff but I used it as a upgrade/replacement for the stock unit.

This is very much worth the upgrade especially if you have lots of lights. W/ built in ground loop eliminators you hear no noise through your CB. As an addition you can grab the alternator failure indicator to add to your dash just in case.

I Live in Belize and the tropical weather here requires optimum performance, so whenever you need to be ready to go on the road, my replacement for the GL1500 Compu-Fire Output Alternator has proven more and beyond my expectations. It has been one of the most important replacement items i have done for my bike. Manuel Ayuso Belize Central America

After having charging problems and stranded on the side of highway, I am very pleased to say this is by far the best upgrade I have installed on my GL1500. I strongly recommend installing both the alternator and compu fire battery as now the bike starts easier and the lights NEVER dim! Terrific peace of Mind!

When opening the box one might think "No way it will never fit".. It looks like it came off a car! Two Allen bolts to remove the passanger foor board, and you have room to fit in a 90 amp 1325 watt alt.. and just like a car, one plug in and one nut hook up and you have more anps , watts or just the power needed to add lights , for the bike and or the trailer..If not for the electronics and systems on the bike YOU COULD jump off a truck...So don't try it BUT...stock is 40 + amps

By far one of the BEST purchases I have made for my Wing in 7 years. Easy install, great performance. The Bonus is the staff of WingStuff are most helpful and excellent to deal with. Highly recommend, I have right at 200 lights counting all of the LED's and have no problem with power and the battery holds a strong charge.

Purchased both Compufire Alternator, and gel battery with the four new rubber dampers. Removing generator was relatively easy by using a very large standard screwdriver to gently pry alternator body from coupler body. Remember to disconnect negative terminal/or remove battery completely prior to starting the project. New battery is larger and it is a very tight fit. My bike (GL1500 Aspencade 1996)had a 4-6 inch tube which was located on what would be the underside of the old alternator. It originated from the opposite side of the bike at the bottom of engine, and was bolted to the engine casing just under the middle of the old alternator. It has a zerk fitting, and turned out to be fill point for neumatic clutch. It was necessary to unbolt this tube and bend it down about an inch to allow more room for the alternator to be moved into the space back end first as described in the instructions at the 6 o'clock position then rotate it to 5 o'clock to get it to finally move into space where fins of alternator could be lined up with spaces between rubber dampers located in the coupler, and then the alternator could be pushed into the housing of the coupler up to about the level of the o-ring and then rotated again to line up the three bolt holes using the peg on the bottom of the coupler to mate first with the bottom bolt hole. Snug all bolts by hand. Make sure before inserting alternator in space to aleign with coupler, that you have the one wire connector pulled around toward you so that you can connect it to the plug. This was the one that you cut the green wire from. The inner most top bolt will have to be tightened by using a 3/8" elbow and extension with your ratchet due to the lack of space. Finish off by installing new double 53amp fuse as described with washer separating them in the middle on each end. Clean of both old fuses with fine sand paper or aluminum foil, and store in fuse cover as backup. Make all necessary attachments to new battery in proper order using new battery screws and nuts. Attach all Positive connections first, then lastly, connect all negative (-) connections and ground wire at screw on lower battery retainer bar. Recheck all your work, all your connections, torque on all bolts on alternator. When satisfied, turn on ignition, check dash lights, hit starter button. Bingo, what a nice response. 13 plus volts at the terminals no sweat. Now reset the dash clock and your good to go. Hope this helps someone. gwooster@comcast.net

This is not optional...you must install one of these if you don't want to find yourself stranded one day. This is the best electrical upgrade you can install, bar none. It's a bit tight to install, but if you follow the directions it's no big deal. Make sure the rubber seal is properly seated befor tightening the bolts, otherwise you'll have an oily mess. Great product!

Lost 2 alternaters on a 95SE. This does the trick. Requires a different battery at the same time. More output than the GL1800s. Good item.

I had alternator trouble on my '95 Gold Wing. I thought it was the battery, put in a new one and the next day it went dead again on the way home. I bought the Compufire Alternator and their battery and no more trouble. It starts easy now and I don't worry about a low battery when I run all my lights and Electrics. Charlie 1993 Gold Wing CSC Trike 1995 Gold Wing Hanigan Side Car 1997 Shadow Spirit 1100 2002 Gold Wing 1800 I can't say enough good things about Compufire.
