Have not ridden with them yet. Had the same install problem. The left side is a snap. The right side went by the directions except the expansion nuts strip out before they expand at all. I had to use a nut and bolt combination to mount them. Minor detail but still it would be nice if the screws match on both sides. They look very functional and I can't wait to see them in action.

I had the same problem with the hardware. But my local Ace Hardware store had all the pieces the make the deflectors work great. I bought stainless steel parts and they look good. Hope this helps. Bill

Left side worked fine but the right side was junk. Of course, you find this out after you drill the holes in your dash. The ancors did not expand out and just stripped the tapped holes. One of the round knobs at the bottom was also stripped. 
Consequently my left leg is happy and my right leg is jealous. |

No goldwing is complete with out these, they are a must have for hot summer days.
