Gold Wing Passenger Comfort Tips |
GL1200, GL1500, GL1800 Passenger Armrests
Goldwing Armrests make a huge difference in keeping a passenger comfortable on long rides, also allows your Co-Rider to have a drink holder, so they can have something to drink without the need to stop. If you own a GL1800, Kuryakyn actually Incorporates a "Swing Out - Swing In" Hide-Away Drink Holder within the right side armrest itself.

Passenger Leg Comfort
Another way Gold Wing passengers can be more comfortable is having more than one foot position, riders do this with Highwayboards, but what about your passenger? Our most popular solution is the famous Kuryakyn Passenger Boards which have a Hide-A-Way Fold Out Footpeg, allowing the Co-Rider to have a HIGHER footrest position. Available for the GL1500 and GL1800 Honda Gold Wing, they also create a nice all chrome look.

Passenger Beverage Holders
Don't ever leave your Gold Wing Passenger without a way to drink beverages while on the road. Especially with the hot summers we have seen, staying properly hydrated is just as important for the Co-Rider as is for the rider. Our most popular is the famous Gold Wing Beverage Butlers that attach to the passenger armrests. They are available in 20oz or 34 oz size, if you Do Not have armrests we also have the Butler to mount without armrests.

Passenger Volume Control and PTT Switches
These are a must have for your passenger, it allows them to adjust the headset volume level seperately from the driver as well as being able to push the PTT Button to talk on the Goldwing CB Radio. Popular choices are the Show Chrome for both the GL1500 and GL1800 Goldwing. The factory Hondaline is also available for the GL1800. If you have an Elite Series J&M Headset, you may buy the lower coiled cord with a Volume Control Built In.

Goldwing Wind Deflection Items
One of the most common complaints of passengers riding on the back of a Gold Wing is too much wind. Drivers have the luxury of a windshield directly in front of them, Co-Riders sit much higher and wind can be a problem, especially on the GL1800. Taller Windshields are a great way to reduce wind buffeting, most all of them are also a few inches wider which also helps. Heres some examples..

Goldwing Mirror Air Deflectors
Another source of wind comes directly back underneath Gold Wing mirrors. Mirror Deflectors really help reduce wind, although very small in size, they make a difference for both rider and passenger. Heres some examples..

I heard about the mirror air deflectors you mention and didn't think they were going to do much until a baught a pair from you guys a few months back. To my surprise, they did help reduce the wind my wife was getting on the back of the 1800 wing like you say. I went with the Baker brand and recommend them to anyone out there. Thanks for info!

As a co-rider, I couldn't do without the Baker Built Air Wings we added or the armrests and Butler Mugs. But the best thing ever is a heated vest. If my center is warm, the rest of me can withstand the cold temps down to the low 40's. Keeping me warm, down to temps in the low 40's, keeps us both on the bike when on long trips.

If your co-rider is of the smaller variety you should look into the transformer boards, they can make a world of difference. If your passenger is long legged they most likely won't be an advantage.
