GWTA National Gold Rush Rally For Gold Wing Riders

July 16th-19th, 2008 Gold Wing motorcycle riders from across America and around the world enjoy attending this rally each year to enjoy one of the most exciting venues in America each year with the Gold Wing Touring Association also known as GWTA. Many travel great distances to enjoy the scenery heading towards the rally as well as the rally itself. What a great event to participate in safety seminars, riding courses, first aid clinics, bike show contests and of course browsing Gold Wing accessory items among many retail vendors.

Also included at the same time is the local The Taste of Billings Street Fair that showcased food and a silent auction. But the real stars are the Gold Wing drill teams who spend hours preparing for the main event. What a great time everyone had that attended.

Expensive Gas Prices Had No Affect On Attendance

Despite high gas prices, attendance was very strong this year at Gold Rush 2008. Last year more than ten thousand attended Gold Rush in 2007, this year approximately fourteen thousand Gold Wing riders and co-riders made their way to Billings, Montana to attend. This was a great destination to spend time with hundreds of fellow Gold Wing riders. It's also a great opportunity to see Honda Gold Wing parts & accessory items installed on fellow riders bikes like the popular GL1500 Gold Wing and newer Honda GL1800 motorcycle.

Famous Show Off Your Bike & Lights Parade

The parade started in West Billings at 9:30 at the corner of sweetwater drive and 32nd street west , and proceeded north on 32nd as it turned into zimmerman trail. The route goes up highway three on top towards gun club road and then back around to the starting point. This gave everyone a nice senic ride and everyone was able to show off their lights and chrome bling while having a great time. Locals enjoyed watching the flow of bikes as they passed by parts of town. Best of all, Cold Stone Ice Cream was at the end of the parade, well, you know Gold Wing riders love Ice Cream, that was a big hit.

Economy Boost For Billings, Montana

The GWTA (Gold Wing Touring Association) Gold Rush Rally generated up to one million dollars into the local economy over just a few days. Besides locals enjoying the bikes and checking out the events themselves, it also was a huge boost for the local economy who welcomes Gold Wing riders to their home town. One local resident was heard saying, these people are all so nice, we really enjoy having them visit our town.

Attending Future Gold Wing Events

Looking ahead to next year, plan ahead to attend one or more of the many exciting Gold Wing National Rally Events offered each year like GWTA Gold Rush 2009, or yearly GWRRA Wing Ding.
